3rd International Conference
Patient’s Voice 2025 marks the third international conference focused on advancing the inclusion of patient voices in health and social care education. Building on the momentum of the 2015 Vancouver Statement, this year’s conference explored the progress made over the past decade and highlighted innovations, practices, and theories that center lived experience in the education of current and future professionals.
Over three days, the conference showcased collaborations between educators and patient or community groups that bring authentic, autonomous patient voices into curricula and training. Participants engaged with examples of meaningful involvement that enrich learning and support more responsive, person-centered care.
The conference is international and interprofessional in scope, welcoming participants from a wide range of health and social care disciplines. Attendees included educators, practitioners, patients, clients, service users, carers, community organizations, researchers, policy makers, and students from health and social care programs. Disciplines represented included medicine, nursing, midwifery, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, kinesiology, social work, dietetics, audiology, speech-language pathology, and others.
